South African referees Thando Ndzandzeka, Lindiwe Thwala and Christopher Harrison will be attending the new FIFA referees course scheduled for 1 – 5 June at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The three jetted off to the Egyptian capital on Monday evening where they will form part of a number of international referees during the five-day course set to take place from 1 to 5 June at the CAF Headquarters.

The New FIFA Referee’s course will see the officials being taken through the revised methods of officiating, also touching on the use of technology in the modern game.

“We are glad to have three of our referees being part of this course. It is the Association’s goal to have world class referees to ensure that the standard of football is kept at its highest at all times” said SAFA’s Head of Refereeing, Peter Sejake.

“We are certainly looking at sending more and more of our referees to such courses as part of SAFA’s Vision 2022 of increasing the number of qualified referees across the various levels of football.”
