The Sasol Women’s League once again lived up to expectations with an entertaining round of fixtures this past weekend.

Cape Town Roses took another step towards cementing their place as clear-cut favourites in the Western Cape with an impressive 6-0 win over Vasco Da Gama to remain top of the table with 21 points from seven matches. UWC Ladies, who defeated bottom of the table Defence FC 2-0, are breathing down their necks with the same number of points, but an inferior goal difference.

The top of the table clash tie in the North West between Titans and De’ Scorpion produced no goals as both sides failed to find the back of the net – the result allowed Golden Ladies to go top of the standings on 15 points after their 9-1 win over Tlhabologang Ladies.

Meanwhile in KwaZulu-Natal, the resurgence of Durban Ladies continued as they registered a convincing 6-0 win over Real United to move up to fourth position on the standings with 12 points, just one behind leaders Lindelani Ladies, who failed to stretch their lead after being held to goalless draw by MUBS at Newcentre.

Gauteng leaders, Palace Super Falcon out-muscled and out-played VUT 8-0 at the Isak Steyl Stadium to remain unbeaten on 24 points after eight rounds of matches. TUT-PTA got back to winning ways when they handed Blue Birds a 5-0 defeat to remain in third position.

Sasol League defending champions, Bloemfontein Celtic maintained their superb run in the Free State region with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Tumahole Ladies at the Fezile Dabi Stadium.
