Jomo Cosmos and Supersport United U19 teams recorded upward mobility when they won their weekend matches in the SAFA Gauteng Development League.

Cosmos thrashed their nemesis Highlands Park to move to fourth spot on the log with eight points from five matches. They have now won two, drew two and lost one.

SuperSport managed a narrow 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates to complete the top five for this weekend, a victory that sees them match Cosmos with points, but the former has a game in hand.

Pirates are still third despite their defeat as the nine points gathered in their first six matches see them continue to fight in the top five.

Bidvest Wits U19 still lead the way with 12 points from six matches while the School of Excellence, who beat Platinum Stars U19 1-0, are second with 10 points from four matches.

The league’s most talked about weekend match is the six goal derby thriller that took place between Rosina Sedibane and the University of Pretoria.

Sedibane remain 12th with five points from five matches despite the thrilling draw, while the University of Pretoria are ninth with seven points from five matches.

Wits Juniors’ hopes of getting off the bottom of the log were dealt another blow when they lost 3-2 to Kathorus Hyper Academy. Wits Juniors are still without a win, having managed a point in four matches with their other three matches ending in defeats.

Panorama also recorded a 3-2 win over Shumba Academy to move to 11th on the log with five points from six matches.
