With just three days to go before the South African Men’s U20 team kick off their FIFA U20 World Cup campaign in Korea, President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Dr Danny Jordaan sent his well wishes to the boys ahead of the highly-anticipated world showpiece.

The SAFA President, who has recently been elected as President of CAF’s Marketing and TV Committee as well as Vice President of CAF’s Management of Club Licencing System also lauded the team for qualifying for such a tournament – saying that just making it to the FIFA World Cup is an achievement to be proud of.

“We are very proud of our boys and wish them nothing but the best. I hope this will be a huge career boost for them as most of the big team scouts will be there to identify talent. They can be proud of the fact that out of 55 countries on the African continent only four qualified and we are one of them” said Jordaan.

Amajita open their World Cup campaign against the Japanese this coming Sunday before squaring off with Italy and Uruguay in their other Group D matches.
