Following the departure of the South African Men’s U20 national team on Wednesday, SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble expressed his satisfaction with the announcement of the 21-man squad handpicked by coach Thabo Senong last week.
Amajita will be making their third FIFA World Cup appearance in Korea and kick off their campaign on Sunday, 21 May against Japan. They will then have to face off against Italy and a very unpredictable Uruguay side.
Mumble also lauded the progress made by the rest of the junior national teams, saying that this will a huge benefit for the senior national team.
“We are happy with the progress made by all our junior national teams. Our U17 team is doing well, our U20 team is doing well, we went to the Olympics last year and we are hoping that Bafana Bafana will benefit from this as well” concluded Mumble.
