The South African Football Association (SAFA) is embarking on its nationwide coaching courses rollout as the push for an increase in the number of qualified coaches at amateur level gathers momentum.

The next stop for the rollout was Dysseldorp in the Western Cape where, this past weekend, a total of 18 aspiring coaches underwent the first part of the 10-Day CAF/SAFA C Licence Course.

The final segment of the course is scheduled to take place later next month and will see the successful coaches obtain the coaching badges.

Amongst other important aspects, the coaches were exposed to modern coaching methods which include effective training, basic factors of performance and principles of training.

SAFA’s Head of coaching development, Frans Mogashoa expressed his satisfaction with the potential of talented coaches from Dysseldorp.

“This is certainly a step in the right direction for football development in this community and we trust that more and more coaches will be interested in acquiring their coaching credentials as we continue on this journey of widening the pool of coaches in South Africa,” said Mogashoa.
