The Sasol Women’s League action got underway in the Free State this past weekend with a number of sides showing they mean business as they put the opposition to sword.

Defending Sasol Women’s League champions Bloemfontein Celtic got their campaign off to a flying start by thrashing Kolisang Ladies 6-1 at the Mmbana Stadium on Saturday.

However, Kovsies FC were the biggest winners on match Day One as they romped to a 10-0 victory over M02kFA FC on the same day.

Nigol FC also showed their intent this season when they thumped Mamello Ladies 7-1 at the Harvenia Club in Welkom.

Happy Ladies laid down their marker that they mean business by crushing Ayebush FC 6-0 at the Botshabelo Outdoor Field on Sunday.

Elswhere, Tsunami Queens edged Grassland Ladies in a nine-goal thiller claiming a 5-4 win at the Bluegumbosch Stadium, Ace Milan defeated Simunye Ladies 3-0 while Central University bagged a 2-1 win over Black Urban.
