Super Eagles maintained their lead at the top of the Free State ABC Motsepe League after defeating a fellow title contender, while there is still no clarity at the bottom. Super Eagles entertained Harmony FC at the Show Ground on Saturday with the hope of pulling clear of their opponents.
That’s exactly what happened as Eagles recorded a 2-1 win and moved five points clear of Harmony, who dropped to third spot. Bubchu United moved up to second spot after recording a 2-1 win over Tshiame All Stars at the Platberg Stadium and are now four points behind the leaders.
Heading into week 27, Super Eagles will host Mangaung Unite, Bubchu United welcome FC Hunters, while Harmony take on struggling Dinonyana. Moving to the relegation battle, bottom place Dinonyana suffered a set back as they went down 2-0 to Central University and are now five points behind Dla 2 FC, who drew 1-1 with African Warriors. Lijabatho, who occupy 15th spot, missed the chance to leapfrog Dla 2 after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Mangaung Unite. Week 27 will see Lijabatho travel to Bloemfontein Celtic, Dla 2 take on Central University while Dinonyana take on Harmony.
