A 3-0 win for Clapham High School from Gauteng saw them retain their title after they beat Harmony High School from the Free State in the edgy final of the 2016 Kay Motsepe School National Championships.

A brace by Thendo Mukumela did the damage as Harmony High played on the back foot.

Player of the Tournament Vuyo Mantjie tried his level best to put his Harmony team back into the match however; all his efforts failed against a formidable Clapham defence.

Clapham High concluded the match when Lethabo Mashifana scored from the penalty spot in the second half after a teammate was pushed in the box.

Luckoff of the Western Cape won the bronze medal in the Kay Motsepe National Championships after beating Rosina Sedibane 4-1 on penalties, following their 2 all draw in the 90 minutes.

Clapham High School walked away with a whopping R 1 million, which will be used to develop the Pretoria based High School, while Harmony High School won R600 000 for the silver placing.

Bronze medallists Luckoff High School received an astonishing R500 000, while fourth placed Rosina Sedibane walked away R 400 000 richer.
