Crystal Palace and Cultural Roots have swapped places on the Western Cape SAFA ABC Motsepe League standings.

Palace beat FC Cape Town 2-0 to move back up to the safer 14th spot on the league table, while Roots dropped back down to the relegation zone, after playing to a 3-3 draw against Ikapa Sporting.

Neither of the league title contenders won this past weekend, with current pacesetters Zizwe United held to a 1-1 draw at Grassy Park, while second-placed Steenberg United drew 0-0 against Ajax Cape Town at home.

The Magic, meanwhile, continued their run of victories, beating Barcelona 3-2 for their eight win in a row and thus make fourth position their own.

In the battle for safety, United FC came out tops with a confident 3-0 victory over Milano United. United are now sitting in 10th place on 23 points, one point ahead of 11th-placed Barcelona and 12th-placed Milano, who both have 22 points on the board.

Bottom-placed Devonshire Rovers, who registered their first maximum points against Atlantic Nacional last week, were unable to complete back-to-back wins. The struggling Hout Bay outfit fell to a 2-0 defeat against Glendene United this week.

Nacional, however, bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 Jomo Power at their Portuguese Club homebase.
