The race for top Stream B in the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League continues hot up, while Mainstay United continue to lead the way in Stream A.

Kuruman Kicks maintained top spot for another week in Stream B, after they dismantled bottom club Juventus 9-0 at the AR Abass Stadium.
Young Stars, who sit in second spot, kept up their pursuit of the leaders with a 2-0 win over Olifantshoek Young Stars on Saturday afternoon.

Third place Colville United, meanwhile, suffered a set-back in their pursuit of top spot, after they were held to a 2-2 draw by NC Liverpool.

There will be some clarity in the next round of fixtures, as Kuruman Kicks host Young Stars, while Colville will face Olifantshoek, who are still battling relegation fears.

Moving to the foot of the stream, Juventus’ emphatic loss to Kuruman leaves them at the bottom, six points behind Olifantshoek. While Young Pirates defeated William Prescod A. FC 2-0 to move up to sixth spot.

In stream A, Mainstay United maintained their seven-point lead over second place Rasta Fa Eagles, after cruising to a 3-0 win over Morester Jeug.

Mainstay will look to consolidate top spot on match day 11 when they host relegation threatened, Hungry Lions.

However, the real battle in this stream focuses on the bottom clubs, as Hungry Lions defeated Olympics 4-3 to jump up to sixth, while Lions drop to seventh spot.

The situation does not look good for bottom club, NE Celtics after they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Kakamas Juventus. Celtics are now seven points behind Olympics and look destined for the drop.

Celtics will have the chance to close the gap on Olympics in the next round of fixtures when the two sides clash at the Robert Gunda Stadium on Saturday, 25 March 2017.
