Acornbush United can clinch the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League title this week, following their heroics in the Nedbank Cup, while the relegation battle is far from being decided.

Acornbush, who lead the way in Mpumalanga, secured their spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup after defeating Absa Premiership side, Cape Town City 1-0 on Sunday.

The leader’s involvement in the cup means they will play their catch up fixture against Tjakastaad Junior Sheppards FC on Wednesday, 15 March 2017.

Should Acornbush avoid defeat on Wednesday, they will be confirmed as winners of the Mpumalanga stream.

Moving to the foot of the table, FC Benfica enhanced their chances of the survival with a 2-1 win over Mlambo Royal Clubs.
