Rising star Luther Singh says the friendly international between Amajita and Kenya scheduled for Tsakane Stadium on the East Rand might mark the beginning of greater things to come.

The South African u20 men national team take on their Kenyan counterparts in an international friendly match on Saturday, 26 November 2016 in which Singh is expected to spearhead the hosts’ strike-force.

The 19-year old scored a brace in a practice match between Amajita and ABC Motsepe side Baberwa in Eldorado Park on Thursday and looked sharp throughout the match.

The friendly against Kenya is part of the preparations for the upcoming COSAFA u20 tournament that will take place in the North West from next week.

Singh says he was being closely watched by a number of European clubs including Welsh side Swansea and Italian Serie B team, Pescara. However, the speedy striker says he was more concerned with the upcoming COSAFA Cup and the CAF u20 Junior tournament in Zambia early next year.

“I have not decided anything yet. I will only think about my future after these two tournaments. You never know in life; I might have a good COSAFA Cup tournament and bigger things might come out of this,” he told the journalists after the practice match on Thursday. Speaking of the u20 squad ahead of the COSAFA Cup, the striker said the team was gelling well and had players who were keen to achieve things.

Meanwhile, coach Thabo Senong said Kenya were an ideal side to give Amajita proper preparations ahead of the COSAFA Cup.

“Kenya are an ambitious football country in their region and are a strong opposition and are tactically mature,” said Senong who added he had assembled a good squad which had a mixture of players from different leagues.
