South Africa drew 1-1 with Burkina Faso in the opening game of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Ouagadougou last month before beating highly fancied Senegal 2-1 at Peter Mokaba Stadium two weeks ago to remain unbeaten in the campaign.
They then played to a 1-1 draw with neighbours Mozambique in an international friendly match in Maputo three days after the Senegal heroics.
South Africa are number one in the COSAFA Region followed by Zambia, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana and Madagascar.
Of South Africa’s opponents in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, Senegal remain the highest ranked team on number 33 in the FIFA World rankings and Burkina Faso is on 50 while Cape Verde is on 80.
