Interim head coach of Banyana Banyana, Desiree Ellis, has made two changes to the squad the played a goalless draw against Zimbabwe in the opening match of the 2016 CAF AWCON.

The South Africans take on hosts Cameroon this afternoon (Tuesday, 22 November) in Yaounde – a clash Elis describes as crucial.

“They are the home side and will have the crowd behind them. The only way to silence them is to get an early goal, which will make our life much better for the rest of the match. The longer it carries on without us getting a goal, the more frustrated my players will be an this could work in the opposition’s favour, but I am confident we have done all we need to do to ensure we get a victory,” said Ellis.

Andile Dlamini retains her place in goals.

The rearguard also stays the same with captain Janine van Wyk will operate from the heart of the defence alongside Bambanane Mbane, while Leandra Smeda and Nothando Vilakazi will be the fullbacks.

Mamello Makhabane will anchor the midfield and will be assisted by Nompumelelo Nyandeni, with Thembi Kgatlana and Jermaine Seoposenwe on the right and left flank respectively.

Linda Motlhalo will play just behind Andiswe Mcgoyi as the striking pair.

Mgcoyi and Seoposenwe get their first start ahead of Refilowe Jane and Shiwe Nogwanya.

The match will take place at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

Kickoff is at 16h00 local time (SA time 17h00).
