SAFA met FIFA this week in the latest in a series of engagements with the world football governing body.

This visit is the latest in a series of engagements with FIFA based on SAFA’s offer to help FIFA to restore the reputation and integrity of football.

Earlier this year the President of SAFA, Dr Danny Jordaan, directed that the Association offer support to FIFA for its restitution claim.

Dr Irvin Khoza, Mr Tokyo Sexwale, Dr Danny Jordaan, Dr Molefi Oliphant and several others have been assisting FIFA to collect information to support the claim. We have had numerous engagements including hosting officials in this process this week.

All the SAFA officials provided documents to FIFA. In addition, two officials, including Dr Oliphant, met with FIFA this week and Dr Jordaan and Mr Sexwale will meet FIFA next week.

Our country is justifiably proud of hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup and will do everything in its power to restore the proud achievements of 2010.

SAFA continues to make its position clear that the right to host the event was won in a fair process and has offered to assist FIFA in restoring pride to the world’s most revered sporting competition.
