The South African u20 Men’s National Team, Amajita, is back in camp to prepare for the upcoming 2016 edition of the COSAFA u20 Cup, scheduled for Rustenburg, North West, from 7 – 16 December.

The squad started their training camp on Monday, 24 October 2016 with a training session at the Eldorado Park Football Grounds.

Head coach Thabo Senong will be looking to reclaim the trophy, which the team last won in Lesotho back in 2013.

“We are glad to be in camp this week and this helps us stay on the right track to achieve our goals. We are confident that we are going to Rustenburg to reclaim our COSAFA u20 Cup title, however we are looking at the bigger picture – we are using the tournament as part of our preparations for the CAF u20 AFCON which will be played in Zambia early next year,” said Senong.

“We have arranged for a practice match against the Orlando Pirates Academy side today (Tuesday, 25 October) and this is where we will get a chance to see the new players that we have invited into the camp.”

The match will be played at Rand Stadium.

Amajita have had to reshuffle their squad for this camp after some players were not available due exams.
