Harmony High School from the Free State will face current champions Clapham High School from Gauteng in the 2016 Kay Motsepe National Championships on Saturday, 8 October 2016 at the Nike Centre in Pimville, Soweto.

Harmony High School have impressed throughout the tournament as the finished top of group B, and managed an emphatic 3-2 win against Rosina Sedibane in the first semi final match out at the Nike Centre.

Clapham High had to dig deep to secure their place in semi finals when they beat log leaders Luckoff High School from the Western Cape 1-0 in the last group stage match played in the morning of Friday, 7 October 2016.

Luckoff High was in search of revenge as they managed to qualify for the semi finals of the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup, as the best runners up. They played Clapham High for the second time in one day but came off second best again.

A convincing 3-0 win for Clapham High School secured their spot in the high anticipated final of the prestigious school tournament.

The winners of the 2016 Kay Motsepe Schools Cup National Championships will walking away with a whopping R1 Million rand, the second runner up will get R600 000, while the bronze medallist will take R 500 000, the 4th placed school earns themselves R 400 000.

The 3rd/4th place playoff will see Rosina Sedibane take on Luckoff High School at 11h00 at the Nike Centre, while the final will be played at 14h00; when current champions Clapham High School battle it out against Harmony High School.
