Free State and Western Cape will contest this year’s SAFA Women’s u19 Inter-Provincial tournament which is taking place at Kagiso Sports Complex on the West Rand.

The Free State walloped KwaZulu Natal 3-0 in the first semi-final earlier in the day and where joined by Western Cape who beat Limpopo 2-0 in the other semi-final match.

Rampant Western Cape will be featuring in the final of this annual tournament for the fourth time.

However, Free State Head Coach Martha Maluku is not fazed by this and believes her side has what it takes to dethrone Western Cape.

“We are very happy to make it to our first ever final and I believe that we have a chance to dethrone Western Cape. They are there for the taking. We have one of the most exciting crop of players and are sure we can reap the rewards of the hard work we have put into this tournament,” said Maluku.

Other results on the day saw the Northern Cape beat North West 3-2 on penalties to win the 3rd place play offs.

In the plate final, the Eastern Cape beat Mpumalanga 5-2.
