The 2016 Edition of the SAFA U19 Women Inter-Provincial tournament will kick off on Saturday, 1 October at the Kagiso Sports Grounds in the SAFA West Rand and will run until 4 October.
All nine provincial teams have arrived in Johannesburg for the registration and preparations ahead of the highly anticipated tournament.
SAFA West Rand Region President Mr Pius Nqandela says he was very excited to host the annual tournament and believes that a few gems will be discovered over the four-day tournament.
“It is an honour for us the West Rand Region to be hosting a tournament of such high importance within our football calendar. These type of events assist in putting us on the map and empowering our communities.
We will be hosting all the 9 Provincial teams and apart from just the football, we will have an opportunity to empower small businesses in and around our region,” said Nqandela.
The West Rand Region President said the aim was to train more female referees during the tournament and many young aspiring football administrators.
“We want them to get a feel of working on a tournament, therefore we are going to unearth many gems over this period of time,” said Nqandela.
