The 2016 Edition of the SAFA U19 Interprovincial Tournament will be hosted by the West Rand Region from 27 September – 1 October 2016.

The Interprovincial Tournament is aimed at identifying players for the national teams and this year’s Edition will be used to ensure that players are identified and placed into systems to ensure that their development is properly maintained.

SAFA Head of Competitions, Balebetse Monnakgotla believes that such tournaments are a vital for talent identification as successful players end up in the Senior National Team set up.

“Since we started the u19 Interprovincial Tournament in 2009, we have laid a solid foundation for women’s football. We have seen raw talent being identified and players graduating into national teams set up,” said Monnakgotla.

The u19 draw will be conducted at SAFA House later this week, and the tournament will be held in Kagiso from 27 September 2016 with the final to be played on 1 October 2016.
