In the matter between SAFA and SASFA concerning the Association’s take-over of Schools football from SASFA, Acting Judge Nkosi granted SAFA leave to appeal against his order of 10 July 2016, in terms of which he referred the dispute between the parties to private arbitration, and also declared Resolution 29 unlawful.

Leave to Appeal is only granted when there are reasonable prospects of success on appeal.

“SAFA welcomes the Court’s decision today as we have always maintained that the earlier position was flawed,” said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.

The matter will now be heard by 3 Judges of Gauteng Local Division on a date still to be determined.
