The South African Football Association (SAFA), in conjunction with the world football governing body, FIFA will conduct a Coaching Instructors Course in South Africa.

The South African Football Association (SAFA), in conjunction with the world football governing body, FIFA will conduct a Coaching Instructors Course in South Africa.

It will take place from 3 – 10 September 2016 at the HPC in Pretoria, with the opening ceremony scheduled for 09h00.

Former SAFA Director of Coaching Horst Kriete from Germany, who will be assisted by SAFA Instructors, Frans Mogashoa and Steve Coetzee, will head the SAFA-FIFA Instructor’s course.

SAFA Technical Director, Neil Tovey, will deliver a paper on the SAFA Development Plan as well as the Code of Ethics for Instructors.

Among others, the theory part of the course will include topics like Modern Trends in Football, Team and Player Analysis, Roles and Responsibilities of an instructor, Principles of Teaching, Communication and Match Analysis.

The participants, who are in possession of CAF A Licence or a SAFA Level 2 Licence, will also deal with practicals during the course.
