The South African Football Association (SAFA) on Thursday held a FIFA International Transfer Matching System workshop for newly promoted clubs at SAFA House.

However, the induction was also attended by officials from the Premier Soccer League, Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards among others.

The TMS is an online registration method for the movement of professional players from one club to the other and was conducted by Ms Pinky Lehoko, SAFA General Manager for Corporate Services.

The transfer window for South Africa closes on 31 August 2016 but Ms Lehoko cautioned most clubs to avoid the last minute rush to register players.

“It has become a habit for most clubs to wait until the last minute to register players and there is always a danger in this as some mishap might happen on that last day. Do your business early; that way it is a win, win situation.”
