The South Africa Olympic team face Iraq in a do or die match when the two sides meet in the third Group A match of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games tonight.

Owen Da Gama’s charges currently sit bottom f the group with only one point and he believes that his side stands a chance to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament but they will have to fight for the win.

“We need to attack and score goals against Iraq that is the only way we can qualify. We have created many chances in the two matches we have played but still have not put the ball into the back of the net.

We are not going to focus on Iraq on what they can and cannot do; we are going to play to our strengths. This is our chance to write our names in history and at this stage it is up to the players to rise up to the occasion,” said Da Gama.

South Africa will face Iraq in a crucial match on Wednesday night out at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo. Kick-off is at 22h00 local time (SA time 03h00).
