Forward Shiwe Nogwanya has been left behind in Rio de Janeiro to continue rehabilition on the ankle injury she sustained in Banyana Banyana’s first match of the tournament, which South Africa lost 1-0 against Sweden.

Nogwanya is under the care of Team South Africa medical team during her stay at the Olympic Village.

As soon as she is ready to travel, she will be flown back home since she had already been ruled out of the Olympics.

Her place in the officlal 18-player squad was taken by forward Thembi Kgatlana.
