Deolin Mekoa is living his dream and has vowed to help the South African Men’s Olympic Team do well at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Mekoa was instrumental in guiding his club Maritzburg United to survival in the Premier Soccer League, now he is Brazil to represent his country at the Olympics.

The Men’s Olympic Team face hosts Brazil on Thursday, 4 August at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia.

Kickoff is scheduled for 16h00 local time (21h00 SA time).

“It’s just a matter of time before our opening match and words can’t begin to describe the excitement within me. Shouid I get the chance to play, I will do the best I can to assist I my team to succcess,” said Mekoa.

“Being at the Olympics is a great honour for any player and I will make the best of this opportunity. As a team, I believe we have the ability to give Brazil a run for their money. We are a strong team with very good players. When you look at our attacking players, you can just tell that the opposition is in trouble. We just cant wait for the games to begin.” added Mekoa.

The squad will have their final training session on Wednesday, 3 August before taking on Brazil the next day.
