South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will face neighbours Lesotho in the quarter-finals of the COSAFA Castle Cup tomorrow, Saturday, 18 June 2016.
Lesotho who were deadlocked on six points with Malawi ahead of the finale, beat Malawi 1-0 in the last match of group B, earning themselves a place a in the highly anticipated last eight of the 2016 COSAFA Castle Cup.
“We managed to watch the match and we are very excited about the competition finally reaching the last eight. We had a very productive training session earlier today and the boys are hundred percent ready for the match come Saturday afternoon,” said coach Shakes Mashaba who together with assistant coach Owen da Gama are overseeing this youthful squad.
We are very impressed about the football that Lesotho has displayed throughout the tournament and it will be an interesting and exciting encounter. They have players with pace but so do we, they have managed to scored 6 goals in three matches however; we are here to score goals too.
I believe the COSAFA Cup is a great opportunity for players to perfect their trade, gain confidence and grow as footballers, these are some of the objectives we are looking to achieve in the COSAFA Cup,” said Mashaba.
The quarterfinal match between South Africa and Lesotho will be played on Saturday, 18 June 2016 at Sam Nujoma Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 15h00 local time (SA time 16h00).
