Appollo X1 FC from Mpumalanga remain at the top of Group A ABC Motsepe national playoffs following a 2-2 draw with KZN’s Kings United in a tight match played at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.

In an earlier game also in Group A, Orbit College FC from North West beat Tornado FC of Eastern Cape 1-0 but remains in third place on the standings.

On Thursday, Appollo play Steenberg United while Kings United entertain Orbit College.

Earlier, Limpopo champions Magezi are the early pacesetters of the ABC Motsepe National Play offs Group B after thumping Morester Jeup of Northern Cape 4-0 in the first match of the Group on Wednesday.

In the second game of the Group B, Manco Milano of Free State edged out JDR Stars of Gauteng 1-0 in a tight second game of the group.

Magezi, although tied on three points with Milano top Group B, thanks to an early superior goal difference having run riot against poor Morester.

While it was a one-way traffic for the Limpopo side, the Milano versus Stars game was highly contested affair and the narrow scoreline underscore the tightness of the contest.

The Group B contest continue on Thursday morning at the same venue with Morester Jeup playing JDR Stars in which both sides will attempt to collect their first points of the highly contested campaign.

In the other game of the Group B also scheduled for Thursday morning, early pace-setters Magezi entertain hosts Manco Milano.

Several scouts are gathered in this Free State capital to tap into the massive talent which is on display here. They include several Mamelodi Sundowns development coaches and Chippa United mentor Dan Malisela among a hosts of top coaches.

The final will take place on Sunday at Dr Molemela Stadium at 15h00 in which the winner is assured of a place in the National First Division and a massive cheque of R1million.
