Amajita Head Coach Thabo Senong is confident that the Burger King-sponsored side has what it takes to qualify for the 2017 CAF African U20 Cup of Nations scheduled for Zambia early next year.
Amajita take on Namibia on Saturday, 11 June 2016 in the home leg qualifier following a goalless draw played two weeks back in Windhoek, Namibia. Senong believes that his side will be able to take an early lead and win the tie, to progress to the 3rd and final round of qualifiers in July.
“We have worked very hard this week, preparing for this tie. We as the technical team have emphasized to the boys how important converting our chances will be. If you remember well, we missed too many chances in the 1st leg; but we were happy not to concede any away goals,” said Senong.
“The match will be played at the historical FNB Stadium and that on its own will be motivation to the boys. We have worked on their mental strength, along with the obvious tactical awareness of crucial phases during the match.
I believe we have some of the best U20 players in the squad and therefore we are very confident that we will get the win tomorrow,” added Senong.
Amajita will host the Young Warriors of Namibia on Saturday, 11 June 2016 at FNB Stadium at 15:00. The winner of this tie will face the winner between Lesotho/Mozambique in the last round of qualifiers in July 2017.
