The Burger King-sponsored South African National u20 Men’s Team (Amajita) are in buoyant mood ahead of Saturday’s CAF AFCON Youth championship return leg against Namibia at FNB Stadium.

Thabo Senong’s boys played a practice match against ABC Motsepe League’s Gauteng provincial champions JDR Stars F.C on Tuesday afternoon at UJ Soweto Campus running away 3-1 winners through goals by Liam Jordan, Masilake Phohlongo and Luvuyo Mkatshana.

“We needed this confidence booster ahead of Saturday’s return game which I am positive we will pull through. I am happy with the level of commitment from the boys and we have taken lots of positives from this practice match,” said coach Senong.

My technical team is very impressed with the quality of payers in the camp, we are happy with the tactical and technical maturity of the team and their understanding of how we want them to play. I am confident that the boys will get the desired result on Saturday,” added Senong.

South Africa will lock horns with Namibia on Saturday afternoon at FNB Stadium, in a crucial second leg match of the CAF U20 African Cup of Nations qualifier. The two teams played to a goalless draw in Windhoek, Namibia two weeks ago.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 15h00.
