Head coach of the South African Men’s u23 National Team, Owen da Gama, has made six changes to the team that lost 3-1 to Senegal in the opening match of the CAF u23 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday (28 November).

South Africa takes on Zambia this afternoon (Tuesday, 1 December) at the Léopold Senghor Stadium in Dakar. Kickoff is at 17h00 South African time (15h00 local time).

Jody February will start in goals in place of Ricardo Goss.

The defence has also been altered – Tebogo Moerane comes in for the injured Denwin Farmer at left back, while Abbubaker Mobara moves to right back where Tshepo Rikhotso operated against Senegal. Rivaldo Coetzee and captain Kwanda Mngonyama will be the central defenders.

The midfield has a new look about it.

Phakamani Mahlambi retains his place upfront and will be assisted by Dumisani Zuma.
