South Africa’s Burger King sponsored National U-17 side find themselves with a mountain to climb if they are to advance to the knockout stages of their first ever World Cup.

South Africa’s Burger King sponsored National U-17 side drew 1-1 with Korea DPR in their second group stage match of the 2015 FIFA World Cup U-17, and now find themselves with a mountain to climb if they are to advance to the knockout stages of their first ever World Cup.

“I said this the other day, football only has three phases. You either lose, draw or win and we have now experienced two of these phases. Our boys started off very well in the match (against Korea DPR), we were awarded an early penalty. However, they seemed to think that the match was over after that and that is where we lost our concentration, conceding a clumsy penalty within five minutes.

“I believe that our match against Korea should have produced many goals either way, and if it was meant to be a draw it could have gone as high as four or five goals apiece, however both teams missed numerous chances,” said Head Coach Molefi Ntseki.

Amajimbos still have a chance to finish second or third in group E and book themselves a spot in the last 16. However, this will be a mountain to climb as they would have to beat Russia at least 2-0, without conceding when these two nations clash on Sunday, 25 October 2015 at 19:00 (SA time 00:00), at Estadio Municipal Ester Roa in Concepcion, Chile.
