The South African CHAN National team is back in full training ahead of Saturday’s return leg against Angola this coming Saturday, 24 October scheduled for Luanda’s National Stadium.

South Africa lost 2-0 in the first leg played at Rand Stadium on Saturday and will have a mountain to climb in the second leg.

“Of course, we have left ourselves with a mountain to climb in the second leg. Overturning a 2-0 deficit away from home won’t be easy but we are not going to give in just like that. We are going to fight and fight hard,” said assistant coach Thabo Senong.

The National team will train twice daily at Marks Park and leave for Angola on Thursday afternoon (12h00).

The second leg match will kick off at 15h00 and the team returns home the following day, Sunday 25 October.

All players reported for training apart from Chippa United’s Thamsanqa Sangweni and Supersport United’s Bradley Grobbler who were both recalled by their respective clubs.

The team will be trimmed to 18 ahead of their departure on Thursday but will remain together until the final squad is announced just before departure.
