Banyana Banyana have suffered an injury ahead of their departure to Equatorial Guinea on Friday, 16 October.

Goalkeeper Yolula Tsawe injured her hand at training and has been withdrawn from the squad. Mapaseka Mpuru, a South African u20 Women’s National Team (Basetsana) goalkeeper, has taken her place.

The HPC player was instrumental in Basetsana proceeding to the final round of the 2016 Papua New Guinea Women’s World Cup qualifiers when they defeated a stubborn Zambia 3-2 at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa this past weekend.

The u20 international has already arrived in camp and will be training with Banyana Banyana on Thursday, 15 October in their afternoon training session.

The Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana take on Equatorial Guinea in a crucial decider on Sunday, 18 October at Estadio de Bata in Equatorial Guinea.

Kickoff is 17h00 South African time.

The winner between South Africa and Equatorial Guinea will qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil next year.

Meanwhile USA-based striker Jermaine Seoposenwe has arrived in camp to join her compatriots. She will be at training in the afternoon.
