The South African u17 National team played a practice match against Chile on Wednesday afternoon in Santiago as Chile, the host nation counts down 10 days to the much anticipated FIFA U-17 World Cup 2015.

This was the third time these two teams have gone against each other; after Chile was invited to South Africa as part of the farewell occasion which was held on 27 September 2015 in Cape Town, South Africa. Although today’s match ended in a stalemate, both coaches believe that they had positives displayed by their boys.

“There are many positives that have come from this match, firstly the boys did not concede which is something we need going into the World Cup, and their level of confidence is also growing which is another important aspect at this level of the game, because to win any match we will have to score goals.

“For us to make it to the knock out stages we will need to score goals. I am happy that the boys played the football we know today and based on that I am confident that we will do well. We have one more friendly before we move to our base camp in Concepcion and all preparations are on track,” said coach Molefi Ntseki

Amajimbos will play New Zealand in their last practice match on Monday, 12 October 2015 in Santiago, Chile.
