Day 4 of the u19 Women’s Championships saw the Western Cape retain their title as national champions after beating the Eastern Cape 3-0 within the first half of the final.

The Western Cape made their intentions clear from the very first whistle when they attacked the 18 yard area of their neighbours aggressively. This assisted they as they found their opening goal within the first 10 minutes of the game when Babalwa Mngxunya curled the ball into the back of the net, Jenny Williams also wanted to be counted on the score board when she shot a stunner into the Eastern Cape net. Nondumiso Manengala said count me in when she scored the third goal from a great build up.

Coach Gaironissa Daniels charges didn’t sit back and watch the Western Cape run away with the match however they could not convert any of their charges as goalkeeper Lindokuhle Duntsu was very alert.

The second half didn’t see much of a change as the Western Cape had many opportunities to extend the lead, but fail themselves with poor finishing. Eastern Cape still tried to get back into the match and managed to pull one back through a goal from Sibulele Holweni.

The Western Cape retain the u19 Women’s Championships after winning 3-1 against the Eastern Cape.
