The stage is set for the kickoff of the 2015 ABC Motsepe League National Plays-Offs in Kimberly in the Northern Cape. It runs from Monday, 20 July to Sunday, 26 July 2015.

Nine provincial winners for the 2014/2015 league season will contest for the two spots available to play in the National First Division (NFD) in the 2015/2016 league season.

The draw was conducted on Monday, 13 July 2015 in Johannesburg.

The sides that will take part in the play-offs are: In Group A – Milford FC (KwaZulu Natal); Glendene United FC (Western Cape); Mbombela United FC (Mpumalanga); African All Stars (Gauteng) and Roses United (Free State). Group B has – Mthata Bucks (Eastern Cape); Magesi FC (Limpopo); North West Shining Stars FC (North West) and Kurumane Kicks/Hungry Lion (Northern Cape).

We trust that the quality of football we are anticipating from you as champions from your provinces is enough to trigger encouragement and necessary appetite to our different spheres of government to uplift the facilities to improve our football. This opportunity comes once in a while for many teams, you are here by virtue of being champions so let us adhere to the rules of the tournament in competing for the top prize. As a province and as an Association, we are proud to be contributing to the development of football in our country,” said Gladwin White, SAFA NEC member from the Northern Cape when he welcomed the teams in the province.

Milford FC will kickoff the tournament with a clash against Roses United at 12h30 in Group A, followed by the Glendene United vs African All Stars encounter in the same stream at 15h00, while Mbombela United has a bye.

Group B will only be in action on Wednesday, 22 July.

The two finalists will automatically qualify for the NFD and will face off for the top prize of R1 million, while the runners up will get half of that.

The one million rand will come in the form of eight hundred thousand rand (R800 000.00) in cash, with an additional two hundred thousand rand (R200 000.00) to be applied for the development of youth football project chosen for by the winner in consultation with both SAFA and the Motsepe Foundation.

The five hundred rand has also been divided into two – four hundred thousand rand (R400 000.00) in cash and an additional one hundred thousand rand (R100 000.00) to be applied for the development of youth football project chosen for by the runner-up in consultation with both SAFA and the Motsepe Foundation.

The matches will be played at Galeshewe Stadium and De Beers Stadium, while R A Abass has been ruled out. The final will be staged at the De Beers Stadium.
