Day 2 of the u15 girls and boys Nelson Mandela Youth Challenge produced 36 goals as the teams played their hearts out to qualify for the semifinals scheduled for Friday.

Day 2 of the u15 girls and boys Nelson Mandela Youth Challenge produced 36 goals as the teams played their hearts out to qualify for the semifinals scheduled for Friday, 17 July 2015.

The tournament runs from 15 – 18 July 2015, where the final will play curtain raiser to the Banyana Banyana Olympic qualifier match against Kenya on Saturday 18 July 2015 in memory of the late Tata Nelson Mandela.

Gauteng girls managed to get the highest goal tally of the day scoring 14 goals against the Northern Cape who had not won any matches in the tournament, and secured their place a spot in the semifinal.

Western and Northern Cape played the most interesting match of the day, where Western Cape secured their spot in the semifinal with a last minute goal winning 3-2 over Northern Cape.

The semifinals for the girls’ u15 will see Gauteng take on Eastern Cape and Limpopo will face the Free State at 10:00, while the boys semifinals will see the Eastern Cape take on Limpopo and the Western Cape up against Northern Cape11:30. The losers’ finals will be played at 15:30.
