Under23 coach Owen da Gama and his technical team comprising goalkeeper coach Deshi Baktawer and assistant Shaun Bartlett have whittled down the squad to the required number of 18 players ahead of the team leaving for Harare, Zimbabwe on Friday morning.

Da Gama said he was confident of the squad making the country proud.

“This team has what it takes to go all the way. Our vision for now is Rio 2016 Olympics. I don’t see why we should not achieve this goal,” said Da Gama.

The U23 leave for Harare on Friday morning and play their Zimbabwean counterparts at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, 19 July at 15h00.

They return home on Monday morning and will begin preparations for the second leg on 26 July.
