The South African Women’s Under-20 National Team (Basetsana) has started preparations for their upcoming World Cup Preliminary round against neighbours Botswana on Sunday, 12 July at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. Kick-off is at 15h00.

South Africa started camp on Monday, 6 July and will have their training sessions in Bedfordview until Friday, 10 July.

On Saturday (11 July) they will have their final preparations at the match venue.

Basetsana and Botswana meet over two legs with the return match scheduled for the weekend of 25, 26, 27 July in Botswana.

Should South Africa go through to the next round, they will face the winner between Tanzania and Zambia over two legs at the end of September and the beginning of October 2015.

The third and final round will be played on the weekend of 23-25 October with the return leg set for 6-8 November 2010.

The 2016 FIFA Women’s Under 20 World Cup tournament will be held in Papua New Guinea from 28 October to 16 November.

Teams from 16 countries will be take part in the tournament drawn from the six Confederations – these will be four from Europe; two from Oceania countries including Papua New Guinea; three from the Caribbean and North America; three from Asia; two from South America and two from Africa.

Germany won the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after defeating Nigeria 1-0 in Canada.
