Amajimbos captain Nelson Maluleke says he is still in dreamland following the national U17 squad’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup in Chile. The tournament will take place in October this year.

“I still can’t believe it that we have qualified for the World Cup. It is something that I have not gotten over me; me and my teammates playing at the highest level. I relish the prospect and can’t wait,” said Maluleke.

“It is always special when we are together as a team because we are on a mission and we feel like soldiers preparing to go to battle. Currently we have been working on our technique and conditioning ourselves for the task ahead.”

Amajimbos arrived in KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg and will remain in camp until Monday. They will play a friendly practice match this coming weekend as part of their preparations.

Amajimbos qualified for the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup in March this year when they won silver at the African Youth Championship spectacle in Niger. The draw for the World Cup will be held on 6 August 2015 in Santiago, Chile with the tournament scheduled for 17 October 2015 – 8 November 2015.
