SAFA has wished Orlando Pirates well when the Soweto giants take on AC Leopards in a CAF Confederations Cup Group B clash in Dolisie in Congo.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has wished Orlando Pirates well when the Soweto giants take on AC Leopards in a CAF Confederations Cup Group B clash in Dolisie in Congo, Brazzaville this weekend, Sunday 28 June.

The match will take place at the Stade Dennis Sassou Nguesso.

Pirates depart on Thursday, 25 June and expected back in the country on Monday, 29 June.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Orlando Pirates the best of luck in the opening match of their group stages clash in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“They have shown they have what it takes to go all the way and we are confident they will fly the South African flag high,” said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.

“While it is not going to be easy, it is important to make solid start to any campaign, especially when playing away. We urge all South Africans, irrespective which club they belong to, to rally behind the Buccaneers,” added the SAFA President.

Elsewhere, five South African match officials have been appointed to take charge of the CAF Champions League 2015 encounter between TP Mazembe (Congo DR) and El Hilal (Sudan).

The match will take place on Sunday, 28 June in Lubumbashi, Congo DR.

Victor Gomes will be in the middle, ably assisted by Zakhele Siwela and Stevens Khumalo, while Victor Hlungwani will be the reserve referee.

Sue Destombes will act as General Coordinator of the match.
