The first 2015 Sasol league roadshow is set for the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal, this coming Sunday, 21 June at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.

A whole day of action packed football with supporting activities for the day set to get underway at 09H00.

The day will start with Banyana Banyana technical staff hosting a coaches workshop from 09H00 – 10H00 with the 16 Sasol league coaches. The workshop will focus on matters relating to women’s football coaching, training and warm ups.

“It is important that we are on the same page with the coaches that coach teams in the Sasol league. The workshops will give us a chance to share and explain to them what we do at national team level so they can help us with preparing the players accordingly,” commented Sasol Banyana Banyana assistant coach, Desiree Ellis.

Another aspect that the roadshow will cover is player identification for all the women’s national teams. Player trials will be conducted by Banyana Banyana assistant coaches Desiree Ellis and Elizabeth Migchelsen, they will be assisted by SAFA scouts Annah Monate and Cameron Cox.

The player trials are set to take place from 10H00 – 12H00. All teams competing in both streams of the Sasol league in KZN and the SAFA Regional league are urged to send six of their best players to be assessed by the national team technical staff and scouts.

“The Sasol league roadshows are a big part of our development, this gives us an opportunity to get to see a bigger pool of players, we have junior national teams structures and these great initiatives by Sasol gives an opportunity to analyse the player’s skills with the aim of identifying talent not only for the Senior National team, but for junior structures as well,” Desiree Ellis said.

The day will end with two Sasol league fixtures – Ntuzuma Ladies will take on Galaxy Ladies at 13H00, while Durban Ladies are set to lock horns with Remax Shooting stars at 15H00. Both matches will be played at the Chartsworth Stadium.

All four teams have only played one game thus far. Durban Ladies together with Ntuzuma Ladies and Galaxy Ladies are joint in first position on the log standings with three points each having won their first matches, while Remax Shooting Stars are placed 5th with just a point.

The day will also include competitions, with the first 500 supporters to come through the gates at the stadium set to each receive either a Sasol league branded beanie, cap or T-shirt.

The Sasol League roadshows will continue this month, with the second roadshow set for the City of Roses, Bloemfontein, on 27 June 2015.
