Mamelodi Sundowns beat the Palacios Accademy 3-0 in the Nike Premier Cup final played at the Nike Center on Sunday afternoon, to be named champions two years in a row.

The first half was a tightly contested one between the two sides, with Sundowns enjoying the lion share of ball possession but still finishing 0-0.

In the second half Sundowns really turned on the heat, as Likhanyile Ndlendle unleashed a swerving thunderous shot to open the scoring for the defending champions.

‘Sika’ as Ndlendle is fondly known was at it again as he doubled The Brazilians’ lead with another stunner, this time from a free-kick. Sundowns sealed the deal with a beautiful team goal to make it 3-0.

At the prize giving, Sundowns walked away away with all three individual awards. Glen Baardjies was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament, with Thabang Ranch awarded Middlefield of the Tournament and Likhanyile Ndlendle named Top Goal Scorer.
