The National under-23 Men’s Team captain Mbongeni Gumede says the Olympic team is geared for their crucial All Africa Games qualifier against Sudan on Saturday.

The South Africans will host Sudan at Dobsonville Stadium. Kick-off is at 16:00 and the match will be part of a double-header that will also feature the game between Banyana Banyana and Botswana.

The under-23s continued with their preparations at the SAFA Transnet School of Excellence on Thursday morning and were scheduled to train again later at Dobsonville Stadium to get a feel of the pitch ahead of the match.

The Olympic team is trailing 2-0 from the first leg played in Sudan two weeks ago and they are well aware of the importance of this clash.

“We know what we need to do come Saturday 16:00. Yes we are two goals down but we have been working on our game and have seen the errors that we committed in the first leg.

“We want to qualify for these All Africa Games and we want to ensure that our Olympic qualifier campaign will start on a high following this coming weekend’s game,” said captain Mbongeni Gumede.
