SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan has sent a congratulatory message to Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club for winning the 2013/14 Absa Premiership title.

“On behalf of the South African Football Association, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns on being crowned the champions of the PSL 2013-2014 ABSA Premiership.

“The fact that Sundowns also scored the highest points in the league and secured the fourth highest defensive record, makes your victory even more deserving and worthwhile,” said the SAFA President in a letter to Sundowns president, Patrice Motsepe.

“Your victory is even more heartening for us because it demonstrates your ability to strike a perfect balance between commitment to football development through the ABC Motsepe League, as well as, performance at the elite level through Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Please relay our message to the players, Head Coach: Mr Pitso Mosimane, the Technical Team and the administration of the club.

“The character shown by the players throughout the season gives me confidence that the club will represent our country well in the upcoming CAF Champions League. Best wishes for your future endeavours,” concluded the SAFA President.
