The Sasol sponsored Banyana Banyana put final touches to their preparations for the international friendly against Ghana scheduled for Sunday 18 May 2014 with coach Vera Pauw stating she was happy with the progress made thus far.

The team has been in camp the whole week as they prepare for this match, which will be used as preparation for the 2014 African Women’s Championship qualifiers against Comoros later this month.

The Technical Team worked on attacking moves on Friday morning, with a lot of emphasis on set pieces.

“Football is a game of logic, it teaches many lessons that we use in our everyday lives. Therefore all movement – passing, defending and shape, should be made for the purpose of attacking and getting the ball behind the net, which of course is the main objective of the game,” said Pauw.

The friendly against Ghana will be played at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, kickoff is at 15:00.

Entry for this match is free to all supporters who have a promotion flyer for the match. Flyers are available from the Sasol trailers which are conducting Road shows in and around Dobsonville.

Four days later, the South African Women senior team will travel to Comoros for the first leg of the 2014 African Women’s Championship qualifiers against Comoros.
