The SAFA SAB Regional League (formerly Castle Regional League), comprising 832 clubs and over 20,000 registered players, is the largest senior league administered by SAFA.

The SAFA SAB Regional League (formerly Castle Regional League), comprising 832 clubs and over 20,000 registered players, is the largest senior league administered by SAFA. This club competition has been expanded from 25 to 52 SAFA regions (from the 2006/07 season). Two regional winners (from each of the nine geo-political provinces) will be promoted annually to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League after a series of play-offs in their respective provinces.

The 52 regional FAs are:

  • Alfred Nzo, Amathole, Cacadu, Chris Hani, Nelson Mandela Bay, OR Tambo, Ukhahlamba (Eastern Cape Province).
  • Fezile Dabi, Lejweleputswa, Motheo, Thabo Mofutsanyana, Xhariep (Free State Province).
  • Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Metsweding, Sedibeng, Tshwane, West Rand (Gauteng Province).
  • Amajuba, Ethekwini, iLembe, Sisonke, Ugu, Umgungundlovu, Umkhanyakude, Umzinyathi, Uthukela, Uthungulu, Zululand (KwaZulu-Natal Province).
  • Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe, Waterberg (Limpopo Province).
  • Ehlanzeni, Gert Sibande, Nkangala (Mpumalanga Province).
  • Frances Baard, Kgalagadi, Namakwa, Pixley-Ka-Seme, Siyanda (Northern Cape Province).
  • Bojanala, Bophirima, Central, Southern (North-West Province).
  • Boland, Cape Town, Central Karoo, Eden, Overberg, West Coast (Western Cape Province).
