Mr Raymond Hack, CEO of the South African Football Association said: “We are still on track for Beijing 2008, the one all draw against Nigeria in Rustenburg is a minor setback, and we are optimistic that our boys will fight hard against Ghana to put us back into contention. We are grateful to the people of North West for supporting Amaglug-glug; and we urge the residents of Potchefstroom and neighbouring towns to emulate the wonderful support we received from the people of Rustenburg.”
Sasol group sponsorship manager, Andriesa Singleton said: “We, at Sasol wish the Amaglug-glug team good luck in their all-important game against Ghana. I am sure Steve and the boys will make us proud by gaining maximum points.”
Coach Steve Komphela remains optimistic about the team’s chances of qualifying for Beijing 2008 Olympics. “We played Ghana before and we know what to expect from them, they are a good side but they are not invincible, a win against them will put us on four points with group leaders Nigeria and we will back on track in our quest to qualify for Beijing 2008;”
